The Fourth

Happy Birthday, good ole U.S. of A.! Even up here in Northern Alberta, we managed to celebrate The Fourth in typical American fashion: dressed head-to-toe in stars and stripes, we barbecued with American friends at a local park. Of course, I'm not sure how "typically American" the typical American would find our celebration. The BBQ was mostly vegetarian, half the guests were "foreign," and the other half were sporting "Yes, We Can" paraphernalia. It was our kind of Fourth of July celebration, at least.

"Kiss Me, I'm American."

Yes, We Can ... get Colin to sleep.

Colin's patriotism is second only to his Mama's.

The little, er, um ... Russian-sailor-boy American.

Rachel shows off her Obama-pride; Colin shows Rachel how to do the splits.

Argh! Here be ... pirates?

what is a 4th of July celebration without pirates?
