That's a Wrap!

What better way to spend a snowy Sunday than finishing a project! Yesterday I put the finishing touches on this sweet little wrap sweater for Miss Virginia that had been languishing in my work basket for so long it was at risk of being to small. Fortunately, when I slipped it on her, it was a perfect fit (at least for another month or two)!

The pattern is from Claire Montgomerie's Easy Baby Knits and is a perfect project for a beginner like me. In fact, it is only the second thing I have ever knit—ever—and it couldn't have been easier. The yarn is 100% alpaca and is the softest thing I could find to go against my sweet baby's soft skin. IT was a dream to knit. For more details, check out my post on Ravelry.

So far what I'm loving most about knitting (other than the fact that it occupies my hands during those hours of downtime while I'm watching the kids), is that it allows me to chose colours that perfectly compliment Virginia's wardrobe. The little cream sweater I knit her for the summer matched all those cute summer dresses she wore. And this little number is the perfect shade of pink for her winter wardrobe. And one of the things I have discovered since becoming the mother of a daughter is that there are a lot of shades of pink out there!

Now, what to knit next? I have about three-quarters a skein of the alpaca left, so I think a little pink hat is in order, don't you?
