How much do I love our new day care? This past Friday, the staff in the baby room at Colin's day care celebrated Valentine's Day by having all of the parents over for a party. They made a table full of low-sugar desserts, they addressed Valentine's Day cards to and from each child, they made table and wall decorations, they even made keepsake photo-cards of each child dressed in oriental dress for the recent Chinese New Year. But nothing earns them my respect so much as the scene I encountered when I walked into the room just before the party was to start: 16 toddlers all sitting quietly and patiently at pint-sized tables waiting to be served their afternoon snacks.
How did they do that? We are so very lucky.
