Kevin and I have been trying to eat more seasonally and locally (no small feat here at Latitude 53), and there is nothing that says "summer" in Alberta better than roses and rhubarb pie. I plucked both the roses and the rhubarb from an obliging field near our house -- talk about eating locally (and cheaply)! Another seasonable treat? Dining al fresco on our newly repainted deck!
